Centrax is mainly involved in two work packages. They will work with the University of Exeter to deliver the design and costing for one or possibly two specific examples of a total low carbon (with some percentage of renewable) energy system for a plant operating a number of different minerals processing activities. This will demonstrate the industrial feasibility and economic viability of implementing a low carbon energy system to reduce the overall carbon footprint of calcined industrial minerals. The target is to extend best practice in this regard. Exeter and Centrax will maintain a close dialogue with the other partners to assess where such a system is likely to be the most viable.
